Multi-agency roundup results in 20 arrests in Ponchatoula

PONCHATOULA- As the result of a multi-agency roundup named Operation Safe City Ponchatoula Police Chief Bry Layrisson announces the arrest of 20 subjects on Tuesday.

Under the direction of Captain Miller and Captain McGary, officers from the Ponchatoula Police Department,as well as members of the Louisiana Probation and Parole; Tangipahoa Parish Sheriff’s Office; Hammond Police Department; Homeland Security; and Alcohol, Tobacco, and Firearms participated in a joint sweep of Ponchatoula.

Chief Layrisson compliments the participation of the outside agencies for a job well done.

“The effort to roundup individuals who have displayed a disregard for the safety and security of the citizens of Ponchatoula was extremely successful,” Layrisson said. “This is a signal to those who target our citizens, that their criminal actions will not be tolerated.”

Additional arrests are expected as a result of information that was obtained during this roundup.
