Woman arrested following fatal crash involving motorcyclist on Highway 67
EAST FELICIANA – One woman has been arrested following a fatal crash involving a motorcyclist on Highway 67 on Friday.
State Police arrested 68-year-old Cynthia Cambre for negligent homicide and failure to yield at a stop sign.
The crash occurred at the intersection of Highway 67 and Gross Road on Friday morning. Cambre was traveling westbound on Gross Road in a Jeep Renegade at the same time that 61-year-old William James was traveling northbound on his Triumph motorcycle. Cambre came to a stop at the intersection but failed to yield.
Cambre began to make a left turn onto the highway into the path of James' motorcycle. His motorcycle struck the driver's side of Cambre's driver's side door and burst into flames.
James sustained fatal injuries as a result of the crash and was pronounced dead at the scene by the East Feliciana Parish Coroner's Office. Cambre sustained moderate injuries and was taken to an area hospital for treatment.

Impairment is not suspected, however a toxicology sample was taken for analysis.
