BATON ROUGE - An active manhunt took to the streets surrounding Hurricane Creek late Wednesday night and into Thursday morning.

Sheriff's deputies were dispatched to reports of a man shot in the head in the 9200 block of Tracy Avenue.

Osval Migdonio Andrades, 21, was taken to the hospital where he later died from gunshot wounds. Deputies spent the night and early morning hours searching for suspects.

The shooting scene was around the intersection of Tracy Avenue and Joor Road. Deputies and police searched a wooded area and the canal running parallel with Greenwell Springs Road and its intersection with Joor Road. A helicopter team watched from above. K9 teams also tracked potential suspects.

Around midnight, sources said one person was taken into custody.  Deputies were possibly looking for two other people.

Specific details will likely be released sometime Thursday morning. Check back for updates and watch video of the search on WBRZ's 2une-In starting at 5 a.m.
