NAPOLEONVILLE – A 44-year-old man died after he was thrown from his 4-wheeler and hit by a car on La. 1 Saturday night.

Curtis Southall, Jr., was driving the ATV along the shoulder of the highway when he ran into a garbage can. The impact threw Southall from the 4-wheeler and into a travel lane where he was hit by a passing car.

Southall died at the scene, State Police said.

No charges were filed against the driver who hit him.
