Man dies after being struck by two vehicles on I-10 near Grosse Tete
GROSSE TETE- Authorities have released more information about a deadly crash on I-10 Sunday night.
The crash was reported shortly before 9 p.m. on I-10 East near LA 77. Authorities say the crash claimed the life of 28-year-old Albert Pickney II.
According to a release, Pickney was traveling eastbound on I-10 in a 2007 Dodge Charger. For reasons still under investigation, Pickney stopped his car in the right-hand lane and began walking in the travel lanes.
As he was walking, Pickney was hit by a 2011 Honda Pilot driven by 39-year-old Amanda Bladsacker and a 2017 Nissan Altima driven by 20-year-old Jose Alvardo Jr. Pickney was pronounced dead at the scene.
Bladsacker and Alvardo were properly restrained and were not injured. Impairment is not suspected to be a factor in the crash, but toxicology samples were taken from Pickney, Bladscaker, and Alvardo for anlaysis.
