Man charged with murder after woman's body is found in the woods
GREENWELL SPRINGS- The East Baton Rouge Sheriff's Office says the man in custody after a body was found Friday afternoon off of Greenwell Springs Road has been charged with 2nd Degree Murder.
According to the East Baton Rouge Sheriff's Office, Daine Bueche's sister contacted the Pointe Coupee Sheriff's Office Thursday to report she believed her brother had killed someone.
She told deputies that the 37-year-old Bueche was covered in blood when he told her he picked up a female in Baton Rouge before she pulled a knife on him. Bueche's says he also told her he then took the knife from the victim, stabbed her with it and beat her with a dumbbell.
New Roads Police responded to his house, and he tried to run but was taken into custody and transported to the Pointe Coupee Sheriff's Office. While he was being questioned, deputies say he admitted to telling his sister he killed a woman and dumped her body in the woods in East Baton Rouge Parish.
After searching for around 24-hours, the woman's body was found in the 31900 block of Greenwell Springs Road. She has been identified as 25-year-old Yvette Pollard.
