Longtime Saints WR Lance Moore announces retirement
NEW ORLEANS - Longtime Saints wide receiver Lance Moore has announced he’ll be retiring from the NFL.
Moore had signed with the Atlanta Falcons as of Friday, but he announced his decision to retire on Monday morning.
Moore played for the Saints for eight season, including their 2009 Super Bowl winning season.
He was picked up by the Who Dats and placed on the practice squad after he was released by the Cleveland Browns in 2005.
Moore’s best season with the Saints was in 2012 with 1,041 yards and six touchdowns. He struggled with injuries in the year that followed, missing three games and only coming up with a pair of TDs.
