Local teen hospitalized after hunting accident
BRUSLY - A family is asking for its community's support after a teenage boy was shot in a hunting accident over the weekend.
According to posts from Dylan Bonaventure's family and friends on Facebook, the teen was on a hunting trip Saturday when he was accidentally hit with a buckshot. Bonaventure was admitted to the ICU at an area hospital, where he underwent multiple surgeries Sunday.
Bonaventure's first round of surgeries were reportedly a success, and was sedated for a couple days as blood donations were gathered.
A blood drive was held Tuesday morning at Our Lady of the Lake to help the high school student get the help he needs.
