PORT VINCENT - State Police are investigating a wreck near Port Vincent involving a loaded school bus and a pickup truck Friday afternoon.

State Police said the accident happened on LA 42 north of LA 16 in Livingston Parish. Police said the pickup truck tried to pass and struck the side of the bus as it was making a left turn.

School officials said the bus had 23 elementary school aged kids onboard from French Settlement Elementary.

Livingston Parish Public Schools Superintendent John Watson said there were no serious injuries and only 3 kids onboard suffered minor bumps and bruises.

The driver of the truck was cited for improper passing.
