Livingston Parish reinstates burn ban
LIVINGSTON - Officials in Livingston Parish have put a burn ban back in effect, just nine days after that ban was lifted.
The move follows a request for such action from area fire chiefs concerned about conditions in the parish.
The burn ban will take effect Friday at 6 a.m.
In late September, the state fire marshal eased restrictions and allowed local government to determine whether a burn ban should remain in effect. Several area parishes decided to lift the ban in the weeks that followed.
