GONZALES - The football rivalry between East Ascension and St. Amant is as storied as it gets in Louisiana.

The game always provides signature moments and performances and for the participants and fans in attendance, memories they will share for a lifetime.

In the latest chapter of this parish showdown, East Ascension cornerback Jacquel Jacobs added his name to this rivalry's history. The senior had 3 interceptions for the Spartans in their 31-10 victory over the Gators, including a pick six on the first play of the game.

A performance of that magnitude, on that stage is already hard to believe. But when you see his road to recovery for that moment to take place, it makes that performance almost unfathomable to believe.
