Handful of murder cases involving women remain unsolved after Lee's death
BATON ROUGE - There are numerous unsolved murders of women in the region.
The death of Derrick Todd Lee Thursday reminded many people of the cases still pending. Lee is suspected of attacking and killing as many as eight women between 1998 to 2003. He was convicted in two of the attacks.
The murder of six women remain unsolved from the time Lee was on the streets targeting women. Of the group, sheriff's deputies in Baton Rouge have two unsolved cases and Baton Rouge Police have one. The police department did not have all data available, though.
Of the unsolved Baton Rouge cases, authorities said none are connected to Lee.
But, in West Baton Rouge, authorities said their lone unsolved murder is likely a case where Lee is the killer.
Another unsolved case possibly connected to Lee is that of Connie Warner. She was murdered in 1992 in Zachary. The city has a second unsolved murder case.
