ST. FRANCISVILLE – An Angola assistant warden was not indicted by a grand jury during a hearing in West Feliciana Parish Monday.

Instead, a grand jury handed up a no true bill in the case against Barrett Boeker.  Boeker was accused of raping a woman at his house on the grounds of the state prison in November.

A no true bill means the case is over, unless the district attorney attempts to present new evidence in the case, though the district attorney said he would  not pursue the case further.

Last month, the accuser told WBRZ’s Chief Investigator Chris Nakamoto that Boeker raped her while his wife and children were asleep in other bedrooms.

The accuser in the case presented Monday told WBRZ, the district attorney was upset she did an interview about the case with the TV station.  Sources said, D.A. Sam D'Aquilla did not present the rape kit related to the investigation during the grand jury hearing or call detectives who worked the case.  

The accuser has said she was worried Boeker would get special treatment.  Boeker received three bond reductions, which area district attorneys described as unusual in previous WBRZ reports about the situation.  When questioned, the judge over the bond, Judge William Carmichael, did not provide an in-depth answer as to why the bond was reduced.  

Boeker was represented by Cy D'Aquilla, who has said he is a distant relative of the D.A.
