Firefighters put out blaze at Shell Compressor Station near Paincourtville

PAINTCOURTVILLE - Sheriff’s deputies in Assumption Parish say firefighters put out a fire at the Shell Compressor Station north of LA 70.

Firefighters from Pierre Part, Paincourtville and Napoleonville responded to the scene. A State Police hazmat crew also turned up at the station to aid in putting out the fire.

No injuries were reported in connection with the fire. It remains under investigation.

No evacuations were declared in connection with the incident, but some roads in the area were briefly closed.
