ST. GABRIEL - A woman escaped overnight from the Elayn Hunt Correctional Institute for Women in St. Gabriel, according to authorities.

Prison chase teams are out searching the area, but the prisoner's identity has not been released at this time.

It is the second escape in less than a week in that area. A male prisoner, Josh Kelly, escaped from Elayn Hunt Correctional Center on Dec. 28. While after overpowering an EMT and driving their ambulance from the facility. Authorities caught him in Ascension Parish later that morning.
