FBI searches woods in Clinton for clues in 2001 child abduction case
CLINTON - Dozens of law enforcement officers and FBI agents searched the woods in Clinton Wednesday afternoon as they search for clues in a child abduction case from 15 years ago.
Federal agents reopened the investigation into the disappearance of Wesley Dale Morgan earlier in the day. Morgan was a toddler when he vanished without a trace from the Clinton area.
He was last seen on May 15, 2001 at his house off Hwy 63 near Bluff Creek.
“[Wednesday], the FBI New Orleans Division has re-opened a 15-year-old cold case and is requesting your assistance in sharing this information with the pubic. With your help, we can raise awareness and hopefully help investigators locate Wesley Dale Morgan,” the FBI said in an early morning news release.
Agents could not comment on whether or not new information has come to light that has led them to reopen the investigation.
Digital billboards will be activated, featuring Morgan's information.

It has been reported investigators believe Morgan may have been given away or sold. In 2008, Morgan's mother, Ruby Renee Havard was charged for trying to sell one of her other children, but those charges were dropped that same year.
