Edwards feeling better, released from hospital
BATON ROUGE – Former Louisiana Governor Edwin Edwards is back home after contracting pneumonia earlier this week and spending Thanksgiving at a Baton Rouge hospital.
Trina Scott Edwards said Friday that the 88-year-old former governor is back home and doing well.
Trina said Friday that Edwin was feeling much better thanks to the excellent care of the doctors, nurses and hospital staff.
Edwards said the former governor received excellent treatment, but was happy to be headed home.
"Thank you all for the prayers, messages and phone calls. We’re very blessed to be supported by such an amazing group of family and friends and we love you all," she wrote.
He spent Thanksgiving at the hospital but didn't eat hospital food. Trina Edwards said the family brought him turkey and trimmings for lunch.
