Drive-by shooting outside Central bank leaves man dead
CENTRAL - A man was shot and killed outside a bank Friday night, and deputies are searching for the suspect. Authorities identified the victim as Deltrick Parker, 41.
The East Baton Rouge Parish Sheriff's Office said the shooting happened outside the Chase Bank on Sullivan Road around 8 p.m.
Authorities said Parker was shot repeatedly in the parking lot from someone in a passing vehicle. He was taken to a hospital in serious condition where he later died.
Deputies are still looking for the suspect, who they believe was last seen in a white vehicle.
Parker, at the time of his death, was awaiting trial on an April 2021 arrest where deputies called him a large-scale "fentanyl/heroin distributor operating in Baton Rouge." Parker was arrested after an expansive operation focused on drug activity.
