Deputies release victim's name in murder-suicide
BATON ROUGE - Authorities have released new details about a domestic dispute that left two people dead, including the alleged shooter.
According to the East Baton Rouge Sheriff's Office, 48-year-old William Benham shot his wife and stepdaughter, before turning the gun on himself.
Deputies say they received a call from Benham's wife Wednesday night, saying her husband's behavior was odd.
Dispatchers then heard shots fired over the phone.
When they arrived to 9236 Redman Lake Drive, they found all three inside the home with gun shot wounds.
Benham and his stepdaughter, 29-year-old Natalie Corkern, were pronounced dead at the scene.
His wife was taken to a local hospital.
