Deputies: Man arrested after kidnapped victim flees
BELLE ROSE - Sheriff's deputies arrested a man on kidnapping and home invasion charges after an attack Saturday.
The Assumption Parish Sheriff's Office released details of the crime Monday. George Leblanc was arrested, deputies said.
Investigators wrote in a news release, Leblanc kicked in the door of a home and once inside, attacked a woman, stole her wallet and forced her into a vehicle. In Donaldsonville, the woman was able to jump from the moving vehicle, found a friend driving nearby and got the person to call 911.
Ascension Parish Sheriff's deputies responded and detained Leblanc, the Assumption Sheriff's Office said.
Deputies did not reveal the name of the victim, or how she is connected to Leblanc. The address of where the attack first happened was not released, either, but deputies said Leblanc lives at 125 Grisaffe Lane.
Leblanc was also booked into jail on robbery, domestic abuse/battery, violation of a protective order, theft of a motor vehicle, and criminal damage to property.
