Crawfish Tracker: Cheaper prices sticking around
BATON ROUGE - Last week saw the lowest boiled crawfish prices of the season, and the downward trend continues this week.
According to WBRZ's Crawfish Price Index, the average price of boiled crawfish in the capital area has fallen to $4.54 as of Thursday. Most of the popular mudbug vendors are selling the crustaceans for anywhere from $3.39 to $4.99 per pound.
Just two weeks ago, the average price was sitting at $6.03, due in large part to a colder-than-usual start to 2018. Naturally, folks were excited to see prices getting back to normal.
