BATON ROUGE – Cox Communications announced Wednesday that technicians from across the country are now in Louisiana to assess damage after this week’s historic flooding.

Cox said crews are now working around the clock to repair its network and restore services in Baton Rouge and Acadiana.

“Teams from Cox systems across the country are committed to restoring services of those impacted by outages as quickly as possible, while ensuring the safety of our employees and customers,” Anthony Pope senior vice president and region manager of the Cox Southeast Region said.

Cox said that crews were able to access the Denham Springs equipment hub Tuesday. That hub feeds services to the rest of Livingston Parish. Restoration at the site has begun.

“Our hearts are with our community and our more than 230 employees who were directly impacted by the flooding.  We thank our customers for being patient with us through our progress,” Pope said.

Cox said they will not be charging early termination or cancelation fees. Cox is also evaluating credit policies now. More details about credits will be available at a later time.

Cox is also offering a Storm Recovery Package for customers displaced from their homes due to the flooding. The package allows customers to keep their existing email and phone numbers without paying a monthly charge for up to one year. The package will also allow customers to check email or voicemail from a computer or phone outside of their home.

More information about the Storm Recovery package will be announced Thursday, Cox said.
