COVINGTON - A house in Covington valued at $7.5 million is the most expensive house in the state, according to a list compiled by Forbes.

The Forbes story lists the most expensive home in every state for the current year.

Louisiana’s most expensive private residence is located in Covington on Three Rivers Road.

Forbes describes the home as a “regal Italian villa” that sits on 18 acres of “manicured grounds” in Covington. It’s located near the intersection of the Abita, Bogue Falaya and Tchefuncte rivers and occupies more than 7,500 square feet. The house features five bedrooms, four full baths and three half baths. As if that weren’t luxurious enough, a cabana, guest home, tennis court, gym, greenhouse, workshop and a treehouse constructed on a small island.
