Child shot armed burglar during home invasion; 2 more suspects arrested
CLINTON - The sheriff's office released new details about a deadly home invasion where a 12-year-old shot and killed the person breaking into a family's home this week.
WBRZ first reported new details earlier Friday and the East Feliciana Parish Sheriff's Office released even more information later in the day.
Deputies said the 12-year-old was protecting his mother from the home invaders who broke into a home on Winchester Lane east of Clinton Wednesday morning around 7:30.
Deputies said Brad Leblanc forced a woman who lives at the home into the house at gunpoint. While inside, the woman and Leblanc started struggling. The woman's son, the 12-year-old, was able to get a hunting rifle and shoot Leblanc. Leblanc died, deputies said.
Leblanc is from Vidalia, authorities said.
The East Feliciana Sheriff's Office identified two other suspects involved in the home invasion. Jonathan Barker was booked for second-degree murder, principal to aggravated burglary and principal to aggravated kidnapping. Jennifer Bond is charged as an accessory after the fact.
