Carrie Lane shooting victim dies, additional arrest made in 'gangsters with guns' incident
GEISMAR - The victim of a Monday shooting in Ascension Parish died Friday morning.
Kermit Jackson, 39, was shot multiple times on Carrie Lane Monday Morning. The charges have been upgraded to second-degree murder for all four suspects involved.
Two of the suspects, Jyvariel Harvey and Kentrell Lewis, are still incarcerated in the Ascension Parish Jail, according to Sheriff Jeff Wiley. Two other suspects, Johnathan Darville, 25, and Javante Haynes, 22, are both still at large.
Police also made an addition arrest Thursday evening. Rachel Bueche, 37, was arrested as an accessory after the fact to second-degree murder.
The Ascension Parish Sheriff’s Office is offering a reward for the information that leads to the arrest and conviction of Haynes and Darville. Crime Stoppers is offering a separate and independent cash reward leading to the arrest of both Haynes and Darville.
