CAPTURED: Deputies locate missing St. Landry work release inmate
OPELOUSAS - Authorities in St. Landry Parish captured a work release inmate who escaped over the weekend.
According to a post quoting Sheriff Bobby Guidroz, Ronald McGee was taken into custody at 10:45 a.m. Wednesday. No further information was released about his capture.
McGee has been on the run since early Sunday morning. Authorities say McGee returned to the parish jail before 9 a.m., but later fled in an unknown direction. The Opelousas Police Department was called to assist with the search.
Authorities located McGee in a gully at the intersection of W. Cherry at South Street but then lost sight of him.
