C. Denise Marcelle endorses Weston Broome for mayor
BATON ROUGE – Former Baton Rouge mayoral candidate C. Denise Marcelle announced Thursday that she is endorsing Sharon Weston Broome for mayor.
Marcelle said she will continue to work with Weston Broome as a Louisiana legislator to help East Baton Rouge Parish residents rebuild after August’s historic flooding.
“Sharon and I share a common vision for the future of Baton Rouge,” Marcelle said. “This vision will ensure economic diversity and opportunities for all citizens in East Baton Rouge Parish.”
Marcelle joins other Democratic leaders in endorsing Weston Broome. Last month, Louisiana Governor John Bel Edwards, former Senator Mary Landrieu, Congressman Cedric Richmond and Mayor Mitch Landrieu endorsed Weston Broome.
“I am humbled and honored to receive Denise’s support and endorsement,” Weston Broome said.
