BATON ROUGE - Police in Baton Rouge issued a correction to a press release Wednesday which said detectives were looking for someone accused of using a debit card stolen earlier this month.

BRPD initially sent out a surveillance photo of two men in sleeveless shirts who detectives said used the stolen card. Later in the day police said the wrong photo was sent out, and the two men had nothing to do with the investigation.

Police said they will issue a correct photo of the person who used the stolen card later.

Investigators said the card was stolen from a vehicle parked in downtown Baton Rouge on Dec. 16. Detectives said someone broke into the vehicle and took the debit card around 11:30 p.m. Police said two others vehicles were also broken into that night and multiple guns were stolen from them.

Anyone with information about the theft should call the BRPD Burglary Division at (225) 389-3824.
