BRFD graduates 29 recruits Friday

BATON ROUGE - The Baton Rouge Fire Department held its graduation ceremony for its 2016 academy on Friday morning.
The ceremony was held at Zoar Baptist Church at 10 a.m. where 29 recruits completed six months of training at the fire academy.
Upon graduation, each of them will have obtained national certifications in Hazardous Materials Awareness, Hazardous Materials Operations, Fire fighter 1, Fire Figher II, and Fire Equipment Driver Operator.
The graduates also completed classes for Emergency Medical Technician and will complete the national registry exam soon after graduation.
