Blackwater Bayou bridge to be closed through much of December

CENTRAL - The East Baton Rouge Department of Transportation has announced that a small bridge in Central will be shut down for just over a month.

The bridge on Carey Road, which passes over Blackwater Bayou, will be closed starting November 20. It's expected to remain closed until Dec. 22.

Officials say the detour will be Brown Rd to Dyer Rd to Blackwater Road to Carey Road.
