IBERVILLE PARISH - An early morning bike ride ended tragically along LA 1 south of LA 75 in Iberville Parish.  Louisiana State Police report 22-year-old Joshua White of Plaquemine was struck and killed as he rode his bike southbound in the left lane on LA 1.  The accident was first reported shortly after 2:00 a.m.

The driver who hit White is identified as 50-year-old Albert Johnson Jr. of Wichita Falls, Texas.  Johnson approached the bicyclist from behind.  Investigators have not said if White had a white light in the front of his bike or a red reflector in the back so he could be seen in the dark.

Investigators are not sure if impairment was a factor in the accident.
