Man allegedly brought gun onto Belaire High School property, fired three shots into ground
BATON ROUGE — A man who was seen with an assault rifle at Belaire Magnet High School has been arrested, authorities said.
Thursday evening, deputies arrested 23-year-old Desmond "Biscuit" Williams for being on school property with a gun - and firing it.
The East Baton Rouge Parish Sheriff's Office said Biscuit is a parent of a student at a nearby elementary school. A Belaire administrator told deputies that he said something about coming to shoot up the school. During a conversation with deputies, Biscuit said he was at the school Tuesday and shot three rounds into the ground "as an attempt to deescalate a fight."
He was booked for carrying a firearm on school property and illegal discharge of a firearm.
