Baker man accused of molesting 11-year-old girl
BAKER - Police say they’ve arrested a Baker man accused of molesting his live-in girlfriend’s 11-year-old daughter last month.
46-year-old Kerry Elliot was booked on charges of indecent behavior with a juvenile, sexual battery and molestation of a juvenile in connection with the Nov. 15 incident.
Detectives said the victim’s mother was contacted by her sister who described the incident to her as it happened while she was away at work. The victim’s mother told police that Elliot had touched the 11-year-old girl in a sexual manner and tried to force his hand under her pants. The girl told her mother that she physically resisted and was able to get the man to stop.
Investigators interviewed the girl’s aunt who told them that she arrived at the family's N. Azalea Avenue residence in Baker to find the girl kneeling in front of Elliot as he sat on the living room couch. The aunt told detectives she immediately confronted the man, who denied he had done anything wrong. She told investigators that the victim told her Elliot forced himself on her and touched her inappropriately.
