Teen shot to death Tuesday, Baton Rouge's first murder investigation of 2021
BATON ROUGE - Police are investigating a shooting that left a 16-year-old dead Tuesday afternoon.
The Baton Rouge Police Department said the teen was found dead around 3 p.m. inside a vehicle on Cadillac Street. Authorities identified the victim as James Jarreau III.
The shooting marks BRPD's first murder investigation of 2021 after the area saw a record-breaking number of homicides in 2020. Another person was shot and killed later that same evening.
Investigators have yet to develop solid leads pertaining to a motive and suspect(s).
