LSU Lakes restoration project to begin early 2020
BATON ROUGE – LSU and the state government are pumping roughly $50 million into efforts to revitalize the Lakes adjacent to the university's campus.
Governor John Bel Edwards announced the funding alongside Mayor-President Sharon Weston Broome Wednesday. The money is said the coming from LSU, the LSU Athletics Foundation, and DOTD. The project is estimated to get underway starting in the first quarter of 2020.

Additionally, MovEBR plans to contribute funding for walking and biking paths around the lakes.
WBRZ reported in September, dredging and deepening the lakes could solve issues that plague the lakes, including algae.
