BATON ROUGE - A prominent police reform advocate was booked into jail for obstructing either Airline Highway or Goodwood Boulevard overnight, authorities wrote in arrest documents obtained by the WBRZ Investigative Unit Sunday.

DeRay Mckesson of Campaign Zero was arrested after authorities said he stepping into the road after being warned not to step into traffic.  Mckesson and hundreds of others gathered outside Baton Rouge Police Headquarters to protest the shooting death of Alton Sterling by Baton Rouge Police Tuesday morning.

Mckesson was one of more than a hundred people booked into jail during the protest Saturday - the largest protest and the largest number of arrests - since the Tuesday shooting in North Baton Rouge.

A woman with Mckesson told the Washington Post he was tackled.  The Post and other national news outlets heavily reported the arrest and details of the protest following news reports on WBRZ and other local reporters.

Mckesson was showing the protest live on a social media app through a smart phone when he was arrested.

"You're under arrest," a voice is heard and the phone abruptly changes positions at the 4:50 mark.  Watch the video HERE.

"I'm under arrest,  y'all," Mckesson said.

The video feed continues when someone with Mckesson took his phone as he was being taken into custody. 

Mckesson founded a group that argues for police reform, especially with how community policing and arrests are handled.  Mckesson lives in Maryland and became a figure following protests in Ferguson in 2014. 

Mckesson posted $500 bond around 3 p.m. Sunday.
