SLIDELL – The Louisiana State Police Special Victims Unit arrested a 73-year-old Slidell man for 500 counts of possession of child pornography.

The investigation began in April as detectives started to gather evidence that 73-year-old Lanier Lively was sharing child pornography files over the internet. On Friday, State Police detectives and Homeland Security Investigations executed a search warrant at Lively's home. During the search, detectives found 23 electronic devices totaling more than 31 terabytes of child pornography.

Detectives then obtained an arrest warrant for Lively charging him with 500 counts of possession of child pornography and one count of distribution of child pornography. Lively was arrested and booked into the St. Tammany Parish Jail on the above charges. According to State Police, the investigation is on-going and additional charges are possible.
