LUTCHER - Three vandals were arrested Sunday after allegedly breaking into a St. James Parish high school overnight, vandalizing classrooms and attempting to set fire to main front office.

The St. James Parish Sheriff's Office responded to Lutcher High School shortly after 3:30 a.m. Sunday. Deputies said five classrooms and the school's cafeteria had been vandalized, and a fire had been started in the office.

Later, Gramercy Police Department discovered a home and three vehicles that had been burglarized in Gramercy and officers connected the trio to the crime.

Sunday afternoon, deputies said 19-year-old Justin Kruger, 18-year-old Mason Ainsworth, and a 17-year-old juvenile were taken into custody. All three are former Lutcher High students.

Deputies said the three were arrested and booked for simple burglary, simple arson, and four counts of aggravated simple burglary.
