Birds blamed for Dish signal trouble

BATON ROUGE - Birds roosting on Dish TV equipment continue to cause signal problems for Dish TV subscribers.
The issues have been troubling viewers for more than a month.
Viewers told WBRZ they were having trouble watching Channel 2 on Dish around the same time most evenings for the past six or seven weeks. Engineers at both WBRZ and Dish investigated, and a Dish engineer found out two weeks ago, birds were roosting on antennas used to pick up WBRZ's signal and transmit it to Dish viewers.
The engineer said he could scare the birds off and the signal would clear up, but once the birds settled back onto the antenna the signal would drop again.
Dish told WBRZ they are working on a permanent solution to improve the signal and keep the birds from interrupting it. Any subscribers who continue to experience trouble should contact Dish Network to let them know.
